Job Ad: Research Assistants in Applied Development Economics

ISDC is hiring Research Assistants in Applied Development Economics to support on-going research work on a variety of projects on the relationship between conflict and development. Some projects will include the analysis of large-scale household panel data (reference “Panel”) while others involve the study of country-level migration data (reference “Migration”).

The scale of the work load and the length of the assignment are negotiable. Full and part-time working options are available for the duration of three to six months starting as soon as possible. We prefer to hire research assistants based in Berlin or willing to relocate to Berlin for the duration of the assignment.

We are looking for advanced masters or doctoral students in economics with strong applied micro-economic and quantitative skills, with experience in Stata and Excel, and preferably with some interest in the economics of development, trade, migration and/or conflict. Experience with panel data is a necessity while a working knowledge of Arabic and/or familiarity with Nigeria would be an advantage. Excellent written communication skills in English are required.
